I missed strawberry season last year. I was so disappointed. But I more than made up for it this year! Together with my Mom and Will, we picked 32 litres of strawberries.

I canned four pints of strawberry preserves, four pints of strawberry jam, and two pints of strawberry preserves with basil, mint, and cilantro. We also froze nine pounds to make wine when we get back from our trip in August. Plus, we ate copious amounts of fresh berries with real whipped cream.

If you’ve never canned before, don’t despair! I didn’t start canning until last summer, and now I’m a canning machine. Our cold room is stocked and ready for the zombie apocalypse.
Next, we pick saskatoon berries. Can’t wait!
