I’m declaring April “Buy Nothing (except what’s necessary) Month.”
With the garage falling down, and an epic four-week road trip planned this summer, we need to save every penny. Especially since in order to go on the epic four-week road trip this summer, I cannot work this summer.
Will has declared April “No Eating Out Month.” This will be really hard for him because he is addicted to pizza. It won’t bug me very much because I usually just scrounge for something to keep hunger at bay. I’ve never been a food addict. I like food, especially if someone else is preparing it, but it’s not a huge deal to me if I just have a banana and peanut butter sandwich for supper. Mostly, I just don’t want to be hungry.
On the other hand, “Buy Nothing (except what’s necessary) Month” will be easy for Will, and really, really hard for me. Not that I’m a huge shopper. I don’t tend to set foot in a mall if I don’t have to. But I LOVE thrift stores. And garage sales. And Kijiji. And Amazon. Gahhhhhhh. This is going to be difficult.
Must keep reminding myself – garage and road trip, garage and road trip, garage and road trip.
