Dunce cap in the Victorian schoolroom at the M...

I just started a new job on Monday, and I’m right in the middle of the new job stupid feeling.  I’ve had a headache every day, mostly from taking in too much new information all at once, and trying to make sense of it.  I know it’ll pass – I’ve worked as temp for years, and I go through this phase every time – it’s just so bloody uncomfortable.

I feel the same way when learning a new script.  Sometimes, I really wish I had a USB port into my brain, and I could just download all I needed to know to do this job, or learn my lines.

I suppose it’s all a necessary step in the learning process, but why does it have to feel so awful?

How do you get over the new job stupid feeling?  Any good suggestions or techniques?
